Arsenal will reportedly make an announcement on Wednesday regarding Folarin Balogun’s contract, according to All Nigeria Soccer.
The 19-year-old, whose current contract runs out at the end of the season, hasn’t penned a new deal at this moment in time.
However, it now appears that the Gunners have made a breakthrough in talks after months of negotiations.
All Nigeria Soccer claims that Balogun is scheduled to undertake media duties with Arsenal’s media team on Tuesday, April 13 and will be questioned on his contract renewal.
The outlet then claims that the Gunners will look to break the news of Balogun’s new contract – expected to run until 2025 – on Wednesday, April 14.
Balogun, one of the brightest youngsters to come through the Gunners academy in recent years, has been in and around the first team this season.
The Hale End striker has made 23 appearances in all competitions between the age sides and the senior team, registering 11 goals and three assists.
Balogun is a superb player whose future at Arsenal has been uncertain, but if the above report is true, it would be amazing for the Gunners.
He’s shown he’s a cut above at Under-23s level and, if all goes well, will surely be the next Hale End star to break into the first team.
