Arsenal appear to have moved on quickly from their Lisandro Martinez transfer setback.

The Gunners were in the race for the Ajax left-back, but he looks set for Manchester United.

Now, Arsenal have reportedly turned their attentions to Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.

And reports have been coming thick and fast today.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein broke the initial story.

He claimed the Gunners were working on a deal for the 25-year-old.

Now, 90Min have claimed that Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Zinchenko.

However, they also reported that the Gunners face competition in pursuit of the player.

90Min also claimed that City would want in excess of £30million for Zinchenko.

Separately, Sky Sports have reported that the Gunners are expected to formally bid for the Ukraine international.

However, they didn’t name a price tag for the player.

Arteta worked alongside Zinchenko at City and the two reportedly maintain a strong relationship.

The former FC Ufa ace can play both at left-back and in midfield.

These are two areas Arsenal are apparently still looking to bolster this summer.

Can Arsenal land technically gifted Alaba-style star?

City teammate Kyle Walker, in a recent interview with YouTuber Timbsy, rated Zinchenko among the most technically gifted players at the Etihad.

He said: “Not in any order, because I wouldn’t want to put them in any order, my top three are Zinchenko, [Riyad] Mahrez and [Bernardo] Silva.”

On the Ukrainian, Walker added: “He’s incredible, incredible. Two touches, head tennis, he’s incredible. So good, so, so good.

“And then you’re leaving the likes of De Bruyne out, Phil Foden, Cancelo. But they don’t come close to those three.”

And on Twitter, fans have compared Zinchenko’s style of play to that of Bayern Munich’s David Alaba.
