Arsenal think they might be able to sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the very last hours on deadline day, according to the Evening Standard.
The 24-year-old looks set to leave the Gunners this summer and was left out of Mikel Arteta’s squad against Leicester on Saturday.
Reports have suggested that Nottingham Forest hold an interest in the ‘fantastic’ Maitland-Niles but that seems to have cooled after the club signed Neco Williams.
The Arsenal defender spent last season on loan at Roma but only made eight appearances in Serie A under Jose Mourinho.
And now it seems that he could be on the move once again but this time on a permanent basis, if Arsenal can drum up interest in the player.

Arsenal might be able to sell Maitland-Niles
There has been no concrete interest in Maitland-Niles so far but Arsenal hope they will be able to sell him.
The club thinks they will be able to sell the Englishman in the final days of the window, or even in the final hours on deadline day.
Maitland-Niles looks likely to leave Arsenal this summer and the player seems to be surplus to requirements in North London.

He could be an attractive prospect for clubs due to his versatility. Maitland-Niles can operate as a full-back on both sides of the pitch, as well as a central midfielder.
He did enjoy a decent loan spell at West Bromwich Albion during the 2020-21 campaign and has even earned five caps for England.
But after Arsenal’s summer business, the Englishman has fallen down the pecking order under Arteta and will need to seek out regular first-team football.
With his contract now heading into its final year, Arsenal will be hoping to sell the player before he is able to leave for free next summer.
