Arsenal have reportedly been interested in Kaio Jorge over the past few months.

Calciomercato claimed four months ago that the Gunners had made contact with the Santos striker’s agent.

However, Arsenal weren’t the only ones linked with Jorge, one of Brazil’s most talented youngsters.

And Arsenal have sadly missed out on the 19-year-old prodigy, with Juventus securing his signature instead.

“Juventus agreed to the conditions we presented and that we believe are the best for the club at this time, given the scenario,” Santos president Andres Rueda said via the club’s official website.

“Good luck to Kaio Jorge, another boy from the village that we hope will do well on his path.”

And Goal.com claims the Serie A side has signed Jorge for a mere £3.3million – £2.5million initially, plus £800,000 in bonuses.

Arsenal have missed out on Ronaldo-like talent but shouldn’t be too disappointed – TBR View

Last year, Goal.com reported that Jorge has already equalled a record previously set by Neymar in Brazilian youth football.

In addition, he has been compared to Ronaldo Nazario for his pace and ability in front of goal.

Arsenal would’ve certainly had quite a few selling points, not least a Brazilian contingent that could’ve helped him acclimatise to life in England and the Premier League.

That said, the Gunners already have plenty of talented attacking players in their ranks, both senior and at age level.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli, Folarin Balogun, Nikolaj Moller… the list is long.
