Arsenal reportedly have a “high possibility” of winning the race this summer to sign Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge.
According to Football London, the 23-year-old is “keen” on a move to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season where he wants to link up with international teammate Martin Odegaard.
It is understood that Berge’s potential switch may depend on whether or not 22-year-old Odegaard turns his loan move at Arsenal into a permanent one from Real Madrid, so the latter certainly holds the key.
Yorkshire Live have reported that Berge’s release clause is £35million following Sheffield United’s relegation from the Premier League to the Championship, with Everton and Aston Villa also potential suitors for his signature alongside Arsenal.

TBR’s View:
If you look at the Arsenal XI, they need an extra body in the midfield.
Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are decent options in the centre of the park, but they need a colossus enforcer to start bossing games for them.
Berge has had a frustrating campaign due to an injury that kept him sidelined for month, but he showed beforehand at Bramall Lane that he’s one of Sheffield United’s key men and a perfect fit for English football.
The 6ft 5in giant is far too good to be dropping down to the second-tier next season, and he could be a brilliant addition for Arsenal.
