Report: Arsenal target Ivan Fresneda was worth just £885,000 a few months ago

Just two weeks ago, Spanish outlet AS revealed that Arsenal are keen to sign Ivan Fresneda from La Liga side Real Valladolid.

The Gunners are always actively looking for talented young players across the globe. Their transfer policy these days puts an emphasis on signing talented young players and developing them into future stars.

18-year-old Fresneda is reportedly the man Arsenal want now.

Fresneda is one to keep an eye on. The teenager has been described by AS as ‘one of the biggest promises of European football’ and that a ‘frantic race has been unleashed in recent weeks to try to get his signing.’

The report revealed that along with Arsenal, the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United and Wolves among other clubs have ‘already moved’ to sign him, and Vallodolid are set to make some big money.

The Spanish outfit have reportedly slapped a £26 million price tag on Fresneda ahead of the January transfer window. That may not seem like a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, especially for wealthy clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United, but the youngster’s stock has shot up in a matter of a few months.

Il Bianconero revealed today that just a few months ago, Fresneda was available for just £885,000. That’s less than what Gabriel Jesus earns in a month. (Spotrac)

If Arsenal or any other club want him now, they’ll have to fork out about 30 times that fee.

He has inexhaustible energy and stamina

Football Talent Scout shared a scout report on Fresneda back in October.

The website calls him a “complete and modern full-back who combines attacking and defensive qualities and feels comfortable in the build-up.”

The teenager is described as a player with a ‘good body mass ratio, physical strength, natural fitness, and stamina, and also possesses very good pace at all distances.’ As every full-back should do these days, Fresneda ‘impacts the game at both ends of the pitch and brings a lot of activity on the right side thanks to his inexhaustible energy and stamina.’

To conclude, the website describes him as a “mature player with a high work rate, determination, and winning mentality, who seems to be eager and hungry to improve and constantly working on his weak points.”
