Arsenal could be handed a big boost in their reported pursuit of Federico Bernardeschi, with Juventus apparently open to selling the midfielder this summer.

According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, Bernardeschi is in a group of four first-teamers who Juve will sell in order to keep hold of Paulo Dybala.

Dybala is thought to be asking for huge wages of around £12m. This means Juve need to sell, with Bernardeschi among those up for sale.

A previous report from the same publication claimed Arsenal, along with Chelsea, were interested in the Italian.

News, therefore, of Juve’s apparent willingness to sell could be a boost for Gunners. Mikel Arteta is scouring the European market for players, with a number of talents being mentioned in recent weeks.

However, Bernardeschi could be a difference-maker for the club. The Italian was a huge influence for Juventus when they overcame Atletico Madrid last season in the Champions League.

Indeed, Massimo Allegri attributed Bernardeschi’s performance to helping Juve through, despite the three-goal heroics of talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Arsenal are going to be busy this summer it seems. Of course, a number of top players could be on their way out.

Inevitably, that means they’ll need replacements. If one of the players to leave is Mesut Ozil, then signing someone like Bernardeschi could go a long way to softening the blow.

The Juventus man could do with adding more goals to his game – he has just one this term – but the talent is there for all to see.

At 26, he’s ready to be playing regularly and moving into his prime years. Arsenal, then, could be the ideal setting for the Italian to flourish.
