Report: Arsenal target Bissouma tells Brighton he wants to leave
Arsenal are interested in signing Yves Bissouma this summer, with 90min reporting that the midfielder has told Brighton that he wants to leave at the end of the season.
Bissouma has established as one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League not currently playing for one of its heavyweights. Unsurprisingly, the Seagulls want to agree a new deal with the Mali international.
However, it appears that he is looking for a fresh challenge. 90min reports that he has told Brighton that he wants to leave. And a host of sides are interested.
Arsenal, Aston Villa and Newcastle are all keen on Bissouma. Meanwhile, Liverpool, Manchester United and Leicester all monitoring the 25-year-old.
Bissouma has one year left on his contract at the end of this campaign. So Brighton are not in a strong position as they look to keep him.
Bissouma could be one of the last pieces of the puzzle for Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has put together a special group in North London. And they are now on the cusp of securing Champions League football next season.
There are a couple of areas where they perhaps need further strength. And in the middle of the park is surely one.
Granit Xhaka has been superb for much of this season. But Bissouma would surely be an upgrade in that sort of role.
He was previously labelled ‘incredible‘ by Graham Potter. And they may be hoping that his £50 million asking price has dropped given his contract situation.
He is certainly one player Arsenal should have their eye on heading into the coming months. Bissouma looks to have the potential to take his game to another level in the coming years.
