Emi Buendia remains high on the list of transfer targets for Arsenal, despite the pending arrival of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, according to Football London.

The Gunners are big admirers of the Norwich City playmaker and the report refuses to rule out a move before the end of the January transfer window.

Edu, in particular, is a big fan of the Canaries trickster.

Buendia has scored seven goals and claimed seven assists this season, with Norwich chasing an instant return to the Premier League.

The Argentine performer spent last season playing in the Premier League with the Canaries, registering eight assists in the top-flight.

Some had speculated that the pursuit of Odegaard would end Arsenal’s desire to sign Buendia this month.

That doesn’t look to be the case though and the Gunners could ramp up their efforts to land the player in the next week.

It has been claimed that Norwich want £40 million for their star man.

Some reports have previously claimed, however, that the Gunners might try and add Joe Willock or Reiss Nelson into the deal as a sweetener (Daily Mail).

If Arsenal could land both Odegaard and Buendia this month it would represent a quality window the Gunners.

TBR View: Buendia would bolster Arsenal considerably

Signing Odegaard is eye-catching in its own right but adding Buendia as well would be the tip of the iceberg.

Arsenal have struggled for creativity in the first half of the campaign and signing Buendia would give them options galore.

Buendia typically plays on the right flank and his 15 assists in the last 18 months highlight what he is capable of.

It’s unlikely Arsenal will stump up £40 million but if a compromise can be reached, it could be a stunning piece of business by the Gunners.
