Arsenal are still in talks to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan, EuroSport suggest.
Talks ongoing
Arsenal’s initial interest in Martinez was reported two weeks ago and initially he seemed to be a hugely ambitious target.
However, as more information has come out, the transfer no longer seems to be impossible.
Arsenal are said to have retained a line of communication with Inter Milan, who value the forward at £65 million.
If they are to sign him for that price he would be their second most expensive signing ever, behind Nicolas Pepe.
Strong appeal
Currently they are the only team pushing to sign Martinez, and the appeal of the Premier League is strong for the Argentine striker.
Indeed, he is believed to be open to move to Arsenal if they can agree a fee with Inter.

The latest update says that Martinez, who is 23, believes that he could make a success of his time at Arsenal – even though the Gunners don’t have European football on offer currently.
That is a testament to the project that Arsenal are currently building.
Arsenal have a collection of impressive youngsters at the club, and if they were to add Martinez they could all peak together.
Martinez is already one of the most elite strikers in Europe, and his arrival at the Emirates Stadium would create real optimism for the season ahead.
