Report: Arsenal star informs agent to find new club
Football London report that Alexandre Lacazette has ordered his agent to find him a new club – despite scoring for Arsenal on Monday night.
Lacazette, 30, netted his third goal of the season – his first in the Premier League – after coming off the bench against Crystal Palace at home.
Just his third league outing of the season, France international Lacazette is yet to start in the Premier League. But he gave Mikel Arteta a reminder.
With Arsenal 2-1 down, his goal was crucial as it preserved Arsenal’s run of five Premier League games without defeat. Three wins, and two draws.
But Lacazette is out of contract in the summer and as his game time continued to reduce, the chances of him penning a new deal are slim.
Even Lacazette, at this point, is clearly looking at pastures new. FL say he has told his agent to find him a new club ahead of the January window.
Lacazette asks agent: Could Premier League club sign Arsenal star?
There are numerous clubs in need of a striker, come January. Staying in North London, Spurs need cover for Harry Kane – though that is unlikely.
Also in London, West Ham are in a similar position to Spurs – they require cover for Michail Antonio as they continue a Europa League campaign.
Everton are struggling without Dom Calvert-Lewin, Newcastle now have the funds to sign the Frenchman. Plenty of clubs would surely be willing.
But for now, Lacazette’s more-likely avenue is returning to his home country – or even joining a Serie A side, the likes of Inter Milan are linked.
