CalcioMercato say Alexandre Lacazette has ‘already decided’ to leave Arsenal on a free transfer, and could make a decision by February.

Lacazette, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season. The France international has been linked with moves to Italy, France and Spain.

Even some Premier League clubs are keen – the Express say Newcastle and West Ham might make their move. Now, Lacazette seems like he will be off.

The ex-Lyon man had started four consecutive league games before Saturday’s 2-0 win over Newcastle. He came on as a sub against The Toon.

The report states that Juventus, AC Milan and Fiorentina are all interested in signing Lacazette – and the Arsenal man had made up his mind.

Mikel Arteta has hinted at a new deal, but CM report that Lacazette has chosen to go on a free – and could make a decision as soon as February.

Lacazette decision: Move makes more sense, for Arsenal and player

At this point, Lacazette was always going to be leaving. The real question is now, does he depart in January for a small fee – or next summer?

He is still an important player at Arsenal and would need replacing. The Gunners might save themselves a few million in January by selling.

But they would have to replace him in a very difficult market and that would mean paying over the odds. It is better if they keep him.

Having him see out the season gives Arteta a very solid option up front or as a 10 – and allows Arsenal to replace him in a better window.
