Alexandre Lacazette has now been offered to Inter Milan ahead of his Arsenal contract expiring in the summer, according to a report from Inter Live.

Lacazette has reestablished himself as a key player at the Emirates. He has started the last four of the Gunners’ Premier League games. And in the wake of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being stripped of the captaincy, it has been the Frenchman who has, so far, taken on the armband.

Nevertheless, there is a question mark hanging over his future in North London. His deal expires in the summer. And Mikel Arteta has previously suggested that no talks over an extension are likely until the end of the season.

It has previously been suggested that the 30-year-old is ready to leave. And it would appear that he is now working on his next potential move.

Inter Live claims that Lacazette has been offered to the Nerazzurri. It is noted that it is not yet clear whether Simone Inzaghi’s men would be interested in the forward.

One thing that is for certain however, is that Lacazette would need to take a pay-cut to move to San Siro. He reportedly earns around £181,000-a-week at the Emirates.

Lacazette has not been in the best goalscoring form lately. But some of his performances have been lauded by Arsenal fans. And it does seem that the Gunners’ youngsters are enjoying playing alongside Lacazette.

The Inter reports may be alarming to some. It does appear that he has plenty still to offer.

Having said that, Arsenal may need to be prepared to make a ruthless decision. If Lacazette is not prepared to pen a short-term deal, the Gunners should let him go.

He is on big money. And similar deals have come back to haunt them in recent years. So Arsenal must resist the temptation to break the bank to keep Lacazette.
