Italian outlet CalcioMercato have claimed that Arsenal are set to table a £60,000-a-week offer to sign Roma wonderkid Justin Kluivert – with a player-plus-cash deal on the cards to sign the Netherlands international.
Kluivert, 21, is rated in the region of £36million by Roma but the versatile attacker is already being linked with the exit door after just 62 appearances for the Italians – since his move from Ajax in the summer of 2018.
Arsenal are very interested in Kluivert and although they are unlikely to meet Roma’s asking price, a deal has every chance of going through due to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s form at Roma. The Italians want to keep the experienced Armenian.
Including the former Manchester United star in a player-plus-cash deal is said to make a move much more affordable. Now, the latest report claims Arsenal are about to offer Kluivert a contract worth £60,000 a week until the summer of 2024.

TBR’s view – Kluivert would be perfect Arteta signing
Since Mikel Arteta took the reigns at Arsenal, he has stated that he wants to give his younger players a chance. The likes of Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli have all played regularly under Arteta.
Add another youngster into the mix in the form of Kluivert, and Arteta would be continuing that trend. The difference with Kluivert is that while still very young, he is much more experienced than Arsenal’s clutch of exciting talent.
Indeed, Kluivert has already played 118 times at senior level for Roma and Ajax. On a decent contract and for a price that could suit the Gunners, he would be the ideal Arteta signing.
