Arsenal are set to announce a loan deal for Arthur Okonkwo, with All Nigeria Soccer reporting that the young goalkeeper is on the brink of leaving the Emirates.
Okonkwo has been in and around the first-team fold in Mikel Arteta’s side for a little while. The 20-year-old was named on the senior bench on a number of occasions last season.

That involvement with the first-team appeared to affect how much Okonkwo played for the under-23s. He only featured five times in Premier League 2.
And with that, Arsenal are ready to send the youngster out for the season. In fact, a move has already been agreed, according to reports.

All Nigeria Soccer claims that the goalkeeper is on the verge of sealing a move. He is on the brink of moving to League Two, with Okonkwo also agreeing to make the switch. The club he is joining is unnamed at this stage.
Arsenal set to announce Okonkwo loan
It is no surprise to see Okonkwo leave this summer. Arsenal have bolstered their goalkeeper options in this window, with Matt Turner joining the Gunners permanently. The USMNT star looks set to act as cover for Aaron Ramsdale amid speculation over Bernd Leno’s future in North London.
Alex Runarsson has also returned from a loan spell. And the Iceland international may not be a bad option as third choice if Arsenal are unable to find him a move elsewhere.
Okonkwo faces a tough task if he hopes to make the grade as first-choice at Arsenal. But this loan move may provide a further idea of what kind of potential he really possesses.
Mikel Arteta is reportedly a big fan of Okonkwo. So he will be hoping that his imminent loan helps the goalkeeper take that next step in his development.
