Arsenal are keen to hold talks with Isco with the Real Madrid star looking to set to leave the Bernabeu in one of the next two transfer windows, according to a report from Eurosport.

Isco’s deal with Los Blancos expires at the end of the season. And he has struggled for game-time under Carlo Ancelotti. He is yet to complete 90 minutes in any competition, while he has been an unused substitute on 12 occasions across La Liga and the Champions League.

Despite his lack of game-time, he is attracting attention ahead of the January transfer window. Eurosport claims that the Gunners join the likes of Newcastle United, Real Betis and Sevilla in the running.

It is suggested that Arsenal want to meet with the midfielder to discuss his plans. And Eurosport suggests that talks with all four clubs will begin very soon.

Isco is a player who has been linked with a Premier League switch for many years now. And in truth, it would be little surprise if most Arsenal fans dismissed the chances of a move happening.

The Gunners have benefitted from an exciting transfer strategy in recent times. They have signed a number of players two or three years from their peaks, with plenty to prove.

And the deals for Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Martin Odegaard are currently looking like masterstrokes. They are performing superbly now. And they may each only get better.

Isco has not been at his best for some time now. And unfortunately, he is at an age where his best years may be behind him. He has had a number of injury issues while with Real.

And given that he earns £211,000-a-week with Madrid, it is hard to imagine many Arsenal fans having any interest in a deal.
