Report: Arsenal set for Aubameyang boost as Barcelona move on

Arsenal are set to be handed a boost with the news that Barcelona are no longer keen on landing striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to Spanish publication, Sport, the Catalan giants are now turning their attentions elsewhere.

Despite being keen on the Gabon international, the report claims Barca now want to sign Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia instead.

Their search for a new striker comes in the wake of losing Luis Suarez through injury. The former Liverpool man is set to miss most of the season.

However, in what is good news for Gunners fans, the Spanish giants are now seemingly turning their attention elsewhere.

The news will also be a boost for Mikel Arteta. Having only recently taken over at The Emirates, he’ll be keen to keep hold of his better players.

Aubameyang certainly falls into that category. He was joint top-scorer in the Premier League last season while he has already notched 14 times this term.

A vital boost for the Gunners – TBR View

Arsenal need to keep hold of their best players and Aubameyang is one of those. Losing players of his quality in January would be a massive blow.

Mikel Arteta is slowing starting to get some messages through to his squad. The last thing he wants is to see some of his star players stripped away.

Aubameyang has been good for Arsenal, too. Of all the signings they’ve made in the last few years he is at least one who’s done what he was brought in to do.

While he would no doubt have impressed in La Liga, he would soon be down the pecking order you’d think.

Luis Suarez is world-class, while Leo Messi isn’t ever going to be dropped.

Aubameyang, then, would be better gettig his head down for the Gunners and trying to help them improve on what has been a poor season so far.
