The Bristol Post have claimed that Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Bristol City midfielder Han-Noah Massengo as the teenager continues to shine following his summer move to Ashton Gate from AS Monaco.

Massengo, 18, joined Bristol City in the summer of £7million (Bristol Post), after clocking up seven senior appearances for the struggling Ligue 1 side. He also boasts 13 caps for France’s Under-18 side and has been called up to the Under-19 outfit.

Coming on at half-time to help Bristol City beat QPR 2-0 in August, Massengo has started every match for Lee Johnson’s side. Before Massengo came into the team, The Robins had picked up two points from three games – suffering a loss to Leeds.

But since Massengo has donned the red of the Championship club, Bristol City have been unbeaten. In Massengo’s nine appearances, he has won five games and drawn four. Arsenal have caught wind of his excellent start, and have scouted him.

TBR’s view – Massengo a starlet, but he needs game time regularly

Since making his debut for Monaco, it was clear that the only way Massengo was going to grow was by playing regular, senior football. It saw him make the slightly surprise leap to Bristol from Monaco for a princely sum.

For Massengo to reach the next level, he needs to continue to shine for Johnson’s men. His valuation is already likely to have doubled, and could even increase more throughout the Championship campaign.

The best move Arsenal could engineer is sign the French wonderkid and loan him straight back to Bristol City.
