Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing defender Dayot Upamecano from German top-flight club RB Leipzig.
According to Bild, the centre-back is available for around £50.4million in the summer transfer window and so far he has refused to extend his current deal with Leipzig.
It is understood that the Bundesliga outfit may be forced into selling the 21-year-old in the summer and his dream destination would be a move to the Premier League.
The report explains that Arsenal are keen on the centre-back after previously failing to sign him, while Spanish heavyweights Barcelona share an interest too.
With the Premier League already in the thoughts of Upamecano, it looks like Mikel Arteta’s side are at the front of the queue for him.
He’s a powerhouse defender that has impressed this season in a Leipzig team that sit second in the Bundesliga, plus have an upcoming Champions League last-16 tie against Tottenham.

TBR’s View:
Upamecano is a powerhouse defender with great strength and pace, which is why it will be no surprise to see him be a real hit in English football.
He’s not the finished article yet, but is a ball-playing centre-back that could be an exciting addition at the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal need to go all out to try land him in the summer.
There is a definite need for an upgrade in the heart of the Gunners backline and adding an upcoming talent to their ranks makes sense, plus they have William Saliba to return from his loan too in the summer.
Arteta can little by little start building a new side in his image and it’s imperative they strengthen at centre-back.
