Arsenal and Manchester United are both said to still be keen on signing Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele, according to Spanish publication, Sport.

Dembele’s future is said to be up in the air with the Catalan giants, with the Frenchman having failed to live up to the expectations the club had for him when they signed him to replace Neymar.

The Frenchman was said to have signed for over £100m back in 2017, while his wages are reported to be around the £10m-a-season mark.

Dembele has featured a bit more this season and has three goals in all competitions. However, he’s scored just 22 goals since arriving in Barcelona and has often struggled with injuries and form.

Arsenal, though, don’t appear to be put off. They have been admirers for a while now, with Sport claiming all the way back in May that the Gunners were eyeing a cut-price £37m deal for Dembele.

And with just 18 months left on his current deal, it appears Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are still keen on the former Dortmund man.

It’s all well and good signing a player like Dembele but you get a the sense that the Gunners might have been here before.

First off, he’s not exactly lit the Nou Camp up on a regular basis. Secondly, Arsenal already have players in wide positions like Willian, Nicolas Pepe, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Do they really need another speedy winger?

There’s no doubting the talent that Dembele possesses but whether he’d be a good signing – especially on those massive wages – remains to be seen.
