Arsenal are believed to be interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Lemar as a potential alternative to Houssem Aouar.
The Independent’s live blog, via a report from the Telegraph, claims that the Gunners have registered an interest in Lemar as they struggle to land both Aouar and fellow Atletico star, Thomas Partey.

Lemar was a target for Arsenal a few seasons back now but ended up signing for the La Liga giants instead. But it appears Mikel Arteta is keen on the Frenchman once again.
Arsenal would need to cover the wages of Lemar if they did do a loan deal, as is expected to be pursued. The 22-cap star currently earns aroundd £120k-a-week, according to a report from the Sun a few days back.

It is believed those wages put Bayern Munich off making a move for Lemar. However, that could well leave the door open for Arsenal, who are expecting Lucas Torreira to move to Atletico as well.
Lemar a fine player and a good alternative – TBR View
Arsenal do need another midfielder and if they are missing out on Partey and Aouar, then Lemar would be a good addition.
He is still only 24 and has plenty of time to develop further under Arteta. He also has experienced, playing 22 times last season in La Liga alongisde seven Champions League appearances.
If this does end up being the midfielder Arsenal end up signing, then the majority of Gunners would take it despite missing out on Aouar.
