Report: Arsenal receive boost in Rugani chase
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are now open to offers for Daniele Rugani, following Giorgio Chiellini’s return from injury. The veteran is fit again and in good shape. Therefore, Maurizio Sarri is now willing to sanction Rugani’s departure should a suitable offer be made.
This may come as welcome news to Arsenal, who have already seen one offer for the 25-year-old rejected, according to The Sun. They may have more luck if they were to return with a second offer now though. What’s more, Rugani himself is thought to be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium, as per the aforementioned Calciomercato report.
The Gunners certainly need to strengthen the heart of their defence. They were poor at the back last season, and they have recently lost the services of Laurent Koscielny. Unai Emery must address this deficiency in his squad before the transfer deadline passes.
Rugani would be a fine addition to Arsenal’s ranks. The seven-cap Italy international has plenty of positive attributes and is good on the ball. He is still prone to the occasional error, but he does have plenty of potential to improve further in future.
If Arsenal can get a deal for the Italian over the line then it would be good business for the north London club. It would seem that their chances of doing so have just increased too.
