Arsenal have reportedly knocked back an approach from AS Monaco for youngster Emile Smith Rowe.
The Daily Mail claim the Ligue 1 side are the first of a few teams to firm up their interest in a permanent move for the player, with the club’s sporting director, Paul Mitchell, said to be a big fan.

Mitchell was the man responsible for taking Smith Rowe to RB Leipzig on loan last season, and was clearly impressed enough by the 20-year-old to want him at his new club.
The Mail add Smith Rowe is valued at least £10 million and as high as £15 million by Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta previously stated that was excited to work with the attacking midfielder, and one does now wonder if the starlet will be afforded some first-team chances in 2019/20.
To date he has only made 12 appearances since his debut in September 2018, but Arteta has already shown a clear willingness to put his faith in youth.

Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah have all gotten good opportunities under the Spaniard.
TBR’s view – Smith Rowe the next emerging Gunners talent?
Arsenal rejecting Monaco’s approach may well mean Arteta is ready to work with Smith Rowe.
At the moment, the attacking midfield position is not really nailed down by anyone, with Mesut Ozil out of the picture somewhat at the moment.
New signing Willian may well be used centrally, but depth will be key for Arteta in 2020/21 with Europa League football on the cards.
