Nuno Tavares is set to sign a five-year contract at Arsenal, Journal de Notices report.
Tavares has emerged as an Arsenal target in the last 24 hours and talks seem to have quickly progressed.
There is now said to be an agreement in place between the Gunners and Benfica over the transfer.
And Arsenal are set to seal the deal soon, with the 21-year-old set to sign a five-year contract.
That will secure his long-term future at the Emirates Stadium, which could be a smart move if the deal works out as hoped.
The left-back has shown plenty of signs of promise in Portugal, and should push Kieran Tierney as a first team place.
Tavares is likely to be a reserve at Arsenal at first, but he should still receive plenty of game time, as the Scot’s injury record is not the most reliable.
Arsenal are said to have beaten both Napoli and Southampton to secure the deal, which looks set to be their first signing of the summer.

Arsenal are now likely to move on to sealing other targets, as they look to bolster in multiple positions.
But the signing of Tavares does give them far more cover at left-back, which became a problem position towards the end of last campaign, with Granit Xhaka often having to fill in there.
