Arsenal are prepared to offer Alexandre Lacazette as a makeweight in an attempt to land Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey.
The Ghana midfielder is top of the shopping list for Mikel Arteta this summer after an impressive season in La Liga.

And according to the Sun, the Gunners boss is prepared to offer Lacazette as a sweetener in any deal. That would mean the end of the line for the Frenchman having signed for Arsenal for £46.5m (BBC) back in the summer of 2017.
Partey’s performances have drawn admiring glances from across Europe. Indeed, the likes of Liverpool are also thought to have watched the 26-year-old Atletico star.

However, it is Arsenal who believe they are in pole position to land Partey. The Sun claim that Los Rojos Blanco’s value the midfielder at around £50m.
Offering Lacazette plus some cash, then, may just be enough to tempt the Spanish side into a sale.

At first glance, this looks to be a move that could actually work out well for all parties.
The Atletico man will want to test himself in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Lacazette has never quite set the world alight in a Gunners shirt.
It was only reported last week that Mikel Arteta has doubts over the striker’s ability to be the main man for Arsenal. That, coupled with this link to Atletico, could spell the end for Lacazette in north London.
While losing Lacazette would mean a replacement striker is needed, the Gunners would at least be getting their hands on a much-needed all-action midfielder.
