According to The Sun, Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has decided to back Mikel Arteta in the January transfer window by sanctioning a £50 million budget.
The Gunners have spent a lot of money since the summer of 2021. That has helped them improve their squad massively, and they are sitting at the top of the Premier League table as a result now.
However, they still need a lot of help.

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke to back Mikel Arteta with £50m January transfer budget
Arsenal splashed about £130 million in the summer to sign Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and young Marquinhos. They tried extremely hard to bring one or two more players in, but no deals materialised in the end.
The Gunners’ squad is a good one but after a blistering start to the new season that has made them potential title contenders, reinforcements in the January transfer window are an absolute necessity.
The North Londoners have been without Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe for most parts of the campaign, while they don’t have a top-quality backup for the likes of Thomas Partey, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Arteta would love nothing more than to bring in new players to strengthen his squad, and the report claims that he will be backed by the Kroenkes in the winter window.
The Arsenal owner has reportedly sanctioned a transfer budget of £50 million for January. That’s not a lot of money in today’s footballing world, but it should be enough to help the squad until the end of the campaign if put to good use.

Arteta wants to sign two new players
The report claims that Arsenal boss Arteta wants to use Kroenke’s £50 million for a double swoop – a new wide player and a central midfielder.
It has been reported that Brazilian midfielder Danilo, who plays for Palmeiras, is the man Arsenal will make a bid for in January. The fee Edu is thinking about is apparently £26 million.
Arteta’s two options for the wide areas are Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk and Villarreal’s youngster Yeremy Pino. It has been claimed that both players will cost a fee in the region of £25 million in January.
If the report is true, Kroenke definitely seems like he’s willing to push Arsenal. However, whether £50 million will be enough for Arteta’s men to pip Manchester City to the title remains to be seen.
