Arsenal are open to loaning William Saliba out again next season, but Jeunes Footeux reports that it would only be on the condition that the Frenchman signs a new contract in the summer.

Saliba is a name being debated by Arsenal fans once again as the end of the campaign looms. Remarkably, he is still yet to make his debut for the Gunners.

He is currently on loan at Marseille. And he has been ‘extraordinary‘ for Jorge Sampaoli’s team. With that, many Arsenal fans will hope that Mikel Arteta has the France international in his plans for next season.

However, there is a question mark over his situation. Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White have formed an amazing partnership this season. And they could theoretically stick together for a number of years yet.

Ideally, Saliba would provide cover and competition for the pair. But obviously, that may depend on how the centre-back feels about having to bide his time.

Saliba has left the door open to returning to Stade Velodrome again next year. However, Jeunes Footeux reports that Marseille signing the youngster permanently is out of the equation. Arsenal are likely to want at least £29.5 million for Saliba.

They may have to pursue a loan therefore. And the Gunners are not ruling another loan out. However, Saliba will have to do something before another temporary move becomes an option.

Jeunes Footeux reports that Arsenal will loan him out, but only if Saliba signs a new contract beforehand.

Arsenal must not loan Saliba to Marseille if they decide to sanction another temporary move

Arsenal loaning Saliba out may ultimately make sense. There is a chance that he will struggle for minutes at the Emirates next year.

However, if they are going to loan him out, surely the time has come to send him to another Premier League side. He has little more to prove in Ligue 1.

Admittedly, Marseille could be in the Champions League next year. But he surely needs to show that he can make an impact week-in, week-out in England if the ultimate goal is to make the grade in North London.
