Arsenal are reportedly open to bringing back former Emirates fan favourite Santi Cazorla for one last hurrah.
The Spanish wizard left the club back in 2018 after battling an awful Achilles injury.
The club regretfully allowed the ace to depart for free after he had undergone a total of 11 operations on the injury.
According to football.london, the Gunners are ‘exploring options’ to bring Cazorla back to Arsenal in some capacity – apparently it was hinted at at a fan forum last night.
It is stated that the club would like to give Cazorla the chance to return to ‘complete his goodbyes’ to the supporters who adored him.
At the top of the piece from football.london, it is said that Cazorla’s dream is to make an emotional return to the club he spent six years at before retiring – which may be coming sometime soon given he is 35.
TBR’s view – Cazorla return would provide massive lift
Cazorla going back to Arsenal has the potential to give the club a big lift.
Cazorla was idolised during his time in north London for making the game look easy with both feet and showing technical brilliance.
Arguably, he is one of the best technicians the Premier League has ever seen, and it was a huge shame the way it ended for him in 2018.
Cazorla returning could bring a wave of positivity to the club and see performances and results pick up as a consequence.
Cazorla pulling on the red of Arsenal one last time is something practically every Gunner out there would love to see.
