Italian outlet CalcioMercato have claimed that Arsenal are one of five clubs interested in signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer – after the Serbian’s stunning season with La Viola, despite his tender age.
Vlahovic is still only 21 years of age but despite that, the Serbia international has clocked up 12 goals in 27 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina. He scored just six in his previous 40 top-tier Italian matches for Fiorentina.
The striker has not only starred on Italian soil, either. Fiorentina’s number nine has clocked up six international caps and during this international break, the striker netting against Ireland during a 3-2 win over Stephen Kenny’s side last week.
Now, the report claims Arsenal are battling four European clubs in the race for Vlahovic – namely RB Leipzig, AS Roma, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan. He is about to enter the final two years of his contract – while TMW claim he is worth £35million.

TBR’s view – Vlahovic has enormous talent, curtains for Nketiah?
Alexandre Lacazette is in excellent form, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will hardly leave so soon after signing a new contract. There is huge hope for Gabriel Martinelli – so, signing a new striker surely sees Eddie Nketiah’s Arsenal spell over?
Vlahovic would be a stunning signing, no doubt. He would offer Arsenal a different type of striker, one with strength and the ability to hold the ball up – bringing others into play. But having another striker would surely convince Nketiah to leave.
