Arsenal have had a busy summer window so far as they’ve successfully bolstered Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the first Premier League game this weekend.
But the club are yet to shift some unwanted players on and according to the Sun, technical director Edu’s recent comments have left officials at Arsenal worried about this.
The Gunners transfer guru recently told the Sun that he considers it an ‘investment’ to pay players off to leave the club and has shown a willingness to do so with Shkodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Sokratis.
Edu explained that this helps to create more space in the squad but his comments have apparently left officials at the North London club worried.

Arsenal officials left worried by Edu’s comments
But the Gunners’ aims to sell unwanted players could be complicated by Edu’s comments, officials at the club fear.
The Arsenal chief’s words have apparently been picked up on by European clubs who will try and make the most of the club’s stance.
Edu has certainly been busy this summer and has offloaded first-team players such as Nuno Tavares, Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi.

Yet, there are still some players left at the club who have been heavily linked with a move away, such as Bernd Leno and Nicolas Pepe.
But Leno looks close to joining London rivals Fulham, with the Athletic reporting that the clubs have agreed a deal for the German goalkeeper.
Gunners starlet Folarin Balogun is also close to joining Reims on loan, so it seems that Edu is working to offload players that don’t feature in Arteta’s plans for the coming season.

Edu is backing Mikel Arteta at Arsenal this summer
Although his recent comments have apparently worried Arsenal officials, it’s clear that Edu is backing Arteta in the market.
Fans will be pleased to see the technical director offloading players that Arteta doesn’t want at the club and bringing in players like Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Edu is shaping an Arsenal squad in Arteta’s vision and it seems he is willing to offload any players that don’t fit the bill, even if that comes at a cost.
