Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on loan for the 2020/21 campaign, according to the Evening Standard.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with Real Madrid playing seven times as Los Blancos were crowned champions.
The Gunners could be in the market for a new goalkeeper as doubts surround the future of Emi Martinez.
The Argentine ended the season as the club’s number one goalkeeper but with Bernd Leno now fit he has reservations over how much game time he might receive.
Aston Villa are interested in the 28-year-old but Arsenal will only consider selling him if they land a replacement first.
Areola is a safe pair of hands who has also played for Bastia, Villarreal and Lens during his career.
He has been offered to the Gunners as a short-term fix to their goalkeeping department, should they allow Martinez to move on.
Areola is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League and had recently been linked with a move to Arsenal’s London rivals Fulham.
Last season the goalkeeper kept five clean sheets during his 13 games and he’d represent a capable pair of hands for the Gunners.

Martinez was excellent in the absence of Leno last season and dropping him now would seem harsh.
In Leno and the Argentine, boss Mikel Arteta has two very good goalkeepers and it does seem somewhat pointless to add another stopper.
Areola is a decent enough custodian and at 6ft 5in he’s an uncompromising figure in goal. Signing him doesn’t really make a deal of sense for the Gunners right now, however.
After his quality deputising last season, Arteta would be better off giving Martinez a new deal and letting him start the campaign as the club’s number one stopper.
