Arsenal are willing to make an offer for Marco Asensio with the Gunners one of the sides most interested in signing the Real Madrid star this summer, according to a report from Cuatro.

Asensio looks set to leave Los Blancos in this window. His contract has one year remaining. And Cuatro reports that Real have not offered the forward an extension.

It is possible that he could yet stay and leave on a free. But Jorge Mendes is also working on a potential sale in this window.

Reports previously claimed that Arsenal have held talks with Asensio’s representatives. And it seems that the Gunners may be about to confirm their interest with an offer.

Cuatro reports that Mikel Arteta’s men and AC Milan are the two sides most interested in the 26-year-old. And Arsenal are willing to make an offer for Asensio.

Real do not want the situation to drag on for long. And they are prepared to sell for a figure of between £25.9 million and £34.5 million.

Arsenal willing to make Asensio offer

Arsenal have been dealt a big blow in the market this week. It appears that Raphinha may be heading to Chelsea amid reports the Gunners made a bid for the Brazilian.

Of course, Arteta looks to have his number one target through the door in Gabriel Jesus. But missing out on Raphinha is a setback.

Asensio is not a replacement for Raphinha. But he would be an addition for the same sort of area of the pitch. And he would cost considerably less than the 25-year-old.

That may make him a more appealing option for some Arsenal supporters. He is a ‘world-class‘ player with a remarkable CV.

So it is not difficult to see why Arsenal are now willing to make an offer.
