Arsenal are thought to be keen on making a move for Chelsea midfielder, N’golo Kante, as the Gunners look to continue their summer spending.
According to the Daily Star this weekend, Mikel Arteta is taking a close look at Kante as he enters the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman is not currently on tour with Chelsea for pre-season due to vaccination reasons.
But the Daily Star reports that Arsenal are keen on signing Kante, who is also being looked at by Manchester United.

A £32m signing for Chelsea after being so impressive for Leicester in their PL winning season, the Frenchman has won the lot, including the World Cup and Champions League. He’s made over 400 career appearances and when it comes to the PL, has even scored more than Arsenal’s current defensive midfielder, Granit Xhaka. Kante has hit 12 goals, while Xhaka is stuck on just 10.
Lauded as being ‘absolutely magic‘ for his dominating performance against Real Madrid last year, Kante has long been considered one of the best midfielders in England. Arsenal, then, have obviously seen a minor opening for one of the best in the game.
TBR’s View: Kante Is The Game Changer For Arsenal
The sheer thought of Arsenal signing N’golo Kante should be enough for Gunners fans to be seriously buzzing.
He is a world class operator and makes the difference in whichever team he plays, whether that be at club level or international level. Put simply, Kante transforms Arsenal into contenders for the top three, not just the top four.
Of course, Chelsea will surely fight to keep their man. But these contract scenarios can be tricky to negotiate at times and Mikel Arteta will be doing his best to influence things here. If Arsenal pull this off, there will be big scenes at The Emirates.
