Report: Arsenal now want to sign 22-year-old after his country crashes out of Euro 2020
Arsenal are looking to sign Mert Muldur as they want to upgrade their options in the full-back position, the Athletic say.
Mulder currently plays for Sassuolo in Italy, and Arsenal are said to have kept tabs on his progress for years now.
The 22-year-old was part of Turkey’s squad at Euro 2020, but he failed to stop his country from making an early exit.
With Turkey now out of the competition, Arsenal’s interest in the rapid defender could heat up.

Bellerin replacement?
Arsenal are looking to snap up a right-back, with Hector Bellerin widely expected to depart.
Mulder is hardly a household name, but he could still be an appealing option for the Gunners.
The Austrian born player is a real threat going forward, with his pace making him a like-for-like replacement with Bellerin.
Many Arsenal fans grew frustrated with Bellerin’s lack of end product, and the hope would surely be that Muldur could deliver better quality in the final third if he was to arrive.
The Athletic do say that Arsenal also have an interest in a number of other options, but it will be intriguing to see how this potential transfer develops over the coming weeks, with Mikel Arteta’s men really ramping up their transfer plans now.
