Report: Arsenal now want to sign £18m attacker who's been compared to Cazorla and Nasri

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Youri Tielemans in recent months.

Now, a report from Belgium has claimed the Gunners are eyeing one of the Leicester star’s compatriots too.

According to Voetbal Belgie – via Sport Witness – Arsenal also ‘want to attract’ Brighton’s Leandro Trossard to N5.

Both Tielemans and Trossard have just 12 months remaining on their respective deals.

The former has reportedly decided to leave Leicester, while Trossard is open to a move away.

“I don’t really think about it,” he told Le Soir in March.

“I am 27 years old, and I let everything happen.

“I’ll listen to the offers, but I don’t necessarily want to leave. Brighton is also a very good club.”

Arsenal actually wanted to sign Trossard prior to his £18million move to the Amex in 2019.

Three years on, can the Gunners finally get their hands on the talented attacker?

“Explosive, exhilarating and influential”

Trossard has been impressive at Brighton over the past three years.

He has made 104 competitive appearances, registering 18 goals and 11 assists.

Trossard has also impressed for Belgium, with five goals and three assists from just 17 caps.

Scouting website Breaking the Lines lauded Trossard last year.

“In Leandro Trossard, Brighton has an explosive, exhilarating, and influential progressive and creative presence who will continue to excite the fans in the club’s project,” they wrote.

“And playing under Graham Potter will only help him, even more, develop as a player.

“He’s 27, so he’s about to enter the peak years of his career.

“And he’s good enough (if he wants) to make the step up and play at the higher level and prolong his international career, and potentially become a more vital part of Belgium national team for years to come.”

Alan Shearer has previously described Trossard as “outstanding“.

And fans on social media have previously compared him to Eden Hazard, Santi Cazorla and Samir Nasri.
