Report: Arsenal now confident 'special' player is going to sign a new four-year contract and stay with them

Arsenal are now confident that Bukayo Saka is going to sign a new four-year contract and stay with them, according to the Daily Mail.

Saka has been a standout performer for the Gunners ever since making his debut in the Europa League back in November 2018.

The 21-year-old has become a mainstay in Mikel Arteta’s side and put in some dazzling displays for Arsenal. Saka was certainly the star performer for the Gunners last season as he registered 12 goals and seven assists.

There have been concerns about the fact his current deal is set to expire in 2024. But it seems that the ‘special’ Saka is edging closer to committing his future to Arsenal.

Arsenal confident Saka is going to sign new contract

The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are prioritising extending Saka’s contract at this moment in time

The Gunners are now confident that a deal to extend the winger’s contract by at least three or four years can be tied up.

The new contract would make the England international one of the best-paid players at the club and has already been formally offered to him.

Saka is yet to sign the deal but it would guarantee him nearly £200,000-a-week.

The Arsenal star has apparently taken an executive box at the Emirates too, which could offer Arteta’s men encouragement that he intends to stay.

Saka hasn’t quite hit the heights he managed during the last campaign so far this season. But he has still provided some real moments of quality for the Gunners.

The winger has had some of the burden taken off of his shoulders after the arrival of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli’s step-up in form.

It will be a massive boost for Arteta if Saka signs a new deal with the club and will show that the Gunners are heading in the right direction.
