Matteo Moretto claims Arsenal have made their move to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix – a player who Cristiano Ronaldo has called ‘excellent’.
The Gunners have suffered a massive blow during the World Cup as Gabriel Jesus has picked up a knee injury.
The Arsenal striker was forced off during Brazil’s 1-0 loss to Cameroon last week and ESPN reports that he could be out for up to three months.
Mikel Arteta may now be forced to dip into the market to bolster his attacking options, with Eddie Nketiah currently the only back-up striker in the squad.
Now, Arsenal have apparently made their move to try and sign wantaway star Joao Felix.

Arsenal make move to sign Felix
Italian journalist Moretto reports that Felix wants to leave Atletico after a rift between himself and Diego Simeone.
Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be leading the race at the moment, with close ties between the French Club and Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes.
But Arsenal have now asked about the possibility of signing the 23-year-old after the recent injury to Jesus.
Felix is enjoying a brilliant World Cup with Portugal and helped his side through to the quarter-finals last night. Fernando Santos’ men thrashed Switzerland 6-1 and Felix put in another eye-catching performance.
The Atletico forward has now scored one goal and provided two assists in three appearances in Qatar.
But he’s not been able to make a similar impact in Spain under Simeone and now looks set to leave the club.

Ronaldo on Felix
Former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo once labelled Felix an ‘excellent’ talent.
“Can he repeat my successes in Spain? I believe that a lot, because he is an excellent player with a lot of potential who can evolve,” Ronaldo told Mundo Deportivo back in 2019.
“You can see the same with Bernardo (Silva), although he is already much more mature in this regard.”
Felix would undoubtedly be a top signing for the Gunners but they will seemingly have to break the bank to sign him. Moretto claims that Atletico are set to demand around £140 million for their star.
While Arsenal may not be willing to push the boat out for Felix, he would be the perfect option for Arteta’s squad. The youngster has shown he can play across the front-three and would compete for a place in the starting line-up in north London.
He seems to have been slightly limited while playing under Simeone in Spain, with the Argentine’s defensive approach not getting the best out of his ‘special’ talent. But he would probably flourish under a more attack-minded coach like Arteta.
