Arsenal are making their move to sign Martin Odegaard now, as he has been left out of Real Madrid’s squad for their first game of the season, Goal.com claim.
Arsenal closing in?
Madrid are due to face Alaves at the weekend, but Odegaard was not on their team sheet for that game.
That has given Arsenal all the encouragement they need to try and sign the playmaker for a second time.
Arsenal took Odegaard on loan last term, but it seems that this time around they will look to buy him on a permanent deal.
Goal say that the figure will cost somewhere around the £40 million mark, which Arsenal find acceptable.
If Odegaard does move to the Gunners he should need little time to settle in after becoming acclimatised to the team last season.

It will also be a major boost for Mikel Arteta to sign a player, who he clearly was a huge a fan of last term.
Solid addition
Odegaard started regularly for Arsenal throughout the second half of season, and he showed plenty of potential in doing so.
If he does join Arsenal on a permanent basis, Arteta will hope that the exposure to regular football can help take him to new heights.
And his arrival should make the Gunners more of an attacking threat over the rest of the campaign.
