Arsenal have reportedly made Carlo Ancelotti an offer to become their next manager.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Gunners have given the Italian boss a contract offer to take charge at the Emirates Stadium until 2021.

The report details that the North London club have in recent hours tabled the deal to the 60-year-old and an agreement is belied to be close.

La Repubblica have also reported that Ancelotti is set to travel to London to take the vacant role at Arsenal, despite Sky Sports reporting that Everton are also keen on appointing him.

Ancelotti was sacked by Napoli on Tuesday night after helping them progress to the Champions League last-16, but it doesn’t look like he will be out of a job for long.

TBR’s View:

Freddie Ljungberg has been in charge of Arsenal recently as caretaker boss, but it looks like the club are finally closer to appointing a full-time successor to Unai Emery.

Ancelotti is a high-profile manager with a great CV and it would be a great addition to have him back in English football.

He’s previously won top-flight titles with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and AC Milan, as well as winning the Champions League three times.

There would be a lot of work for him to do to get Arsenal back competing near the top end of the Premier League due to the fact they are struggling down in ninth right now, but he would be a really shrewd appointment that could make an impact.
