Arsenal have ‘knocked on the door’ of Sassuolo regarding Gianluca Scamacca, according to FC Inter News via Sport Witness.

The Gunners are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window with regards to new attacking players.

Arsenal have just two senior strikers in their ranks right now – Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Both players are also out of contract at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Therefore, there’s scope for Mikel Arteta to bolster his attacking ranks considerable in the off-season.

As well as Arsenal, the likes of Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Inter are apparently in pursuit of Scamacca.

The 23-year-old reportedly hopes to take the ‘big leap’ to a top club next season.

And Sassuolo are apparently ready to let Scamacca leave for €40million (around £34million).

Inter’s budget reportedly wouldn’t allow them to invest the above figure in full.

However, Scamacca appears eager to stay in Italy.

This means Inter still have a chance and they’re apparently still in negotiations.

Therefore, Arsenal must work hard if they want to beat Inter and other suitors to Scamacca’s signature.

“I really like Scamacca” – Christian Vieri

Scamacca has emerged as one of Italy’s finest young strikers this season.

He had to bide his time to make his Sassuolo breakthrough following a number of loan spells.

However, Scamacca is now impressing in black-and-green, with 13 goals from 28 Serie A appearances this term.

The 6ft 5in striker is dominant in the air, holds the ball up well, can pick out a killer pass and is mobile for his size.

Former Italy powerhouse Christian Vieri praised Scamacca just a few days ago.

He told FootballNews24.it, via Sempre Inter: There’s no other Bobo Vieri, but there are young strikers who will slowly grow.

“I really like Scamacca, he’s ready for the top level right now.”
