Arsenal are reportedly interested in a move for Ajax forward Quincy Promes. That is according to The Sun, who suggest the Gunners are keen on bringing the Dutch international to The Emirates this summer.
The report claims that the Dutch side could demand a fee in the region of £25 million for the player, who scored 16 goals in last season’s campaign.
Arsenal are looking to operate on a tight financial budget this summer amid the current global health crisis but that has seemingly not stopped them showing interest in Promes.
The report even claims that a source close to the Dutchman has made it clear he would join Arsenal ‘in a heartbeat’ if given the chance.
Promes only headed back to boyhood club Ajax last summer, joining from Spanish side Sevilla after a difficult campaign in La Liga.

At the time, it was a deal that had Ajax sporting director and former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars very excited.
“A Dutchman, of a good age, in the prime of his life and also an Amsterdammer, but also a permanent option for the national team,” Overmars told FOX Sports in June last year. “We have a lot of faith in him. Promes is a player with a lot of movement, power, dynamics and he can also score goals.”
Arsenal are clearly hopeful of adding another attacking option this summer, with Willian potentially arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea.
Promes would appear to be another option on top of the Brazilian’s arrival. It is not the first time Arsenal have been linked with the 42-cap international. The Daily Mail reported in November that Arsenal could have been tempted into a move for the player in the January transfer window.
Whether or not Arsenal actually have the financial clout available to make a deal happen for Promes remains to be seen but it would undoubtedly be a deal that Gunners fans could get behind.
