Arsenal are reportedly interested in Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu.
According to Turkish-Football, the Gunners and Manchester City are both keen on trying to sign the centre-back.
It is understood that Premier League outfit Leicester have made it clear that the 23-year-old is not for sale in the January transfer window, despite an initial enquiry from Manchester City for him.
Soyuncu had a quiet first year in English football, as he spent most of last season watching on from the sidelines at the King Power Stadium.
The powerhouse enforcer has stepped up following the exit of Harry Maguire to play in every league minute this campaign.
He’s a ball-playing centre-back that is so composed defending against opponents with his strength, intelligence and pace.
The Turkey international has played a major role in why Leicester have conceded the least amount of goals in the Premier League so far and sit second in the table during the November international break.
Arsenal certainly need reinforcements in defence and there is a strong case to suggest Soyuncu has been one of the best centre-backs so far in the Premier League this season.
He’s thriving at present in an exciting Leicester team and there are no obvious weaknesses to his game, while at 23 his best years should still be ahead of him.
Unai Emery’s Arsenal are in major need of some fresh centre-back options moving forward and Soyuncu is someone worth holding out for in the summer, but he would surely cost a fortune.
