French outlet Foot Mercato have claimed that Arsenal and another Premier League club are very interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Julian Draxler this summer.
Draxler, 26, is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at PSG. Having only started 12 games this season, it is unlikely the former Wolfsburg ace will have such a deal renewed – and PSG will certainly be open to offers this summer.
A 51-time Germany international, Draxler has long been linked with a move to Arsenal. Draxler joined Shkodran Mustafi at an NBA London game in January 2018. Asked about Draxler at Arsenal, Mustafi replied: “That is the reason he came here.”
The latest report claims that although Arsenal are not the only side interested in signing Draxler this summer, with Hertha Berlin having made an offer. But The Gunners are ‘very interested’ in doing a deal.

TBR’s view – Draxler is the perfect replacement for Mesut Ozil
Ozil and Draxler are close and have commented on eachother in the press over the years while playing together for Germany. But five years Ozil’s junior, Draxler would be the perfect replacement for Ozil – who has been linked with the exit door.
One problem for Arsenal, though, could be Draxler’s wages – and indeed transfer fee. Foot Mercato claim he is earning £120,000 a week at PSG, and cost the French side £36.5million. It may be an expensive signing, in these difficult times.
