According to Sky Sports contributor Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are amongst the clubs considering launching a move to sign Sami Khedira. Juventus are said to be happy to see the midfielder go this summer. Valencia and Fiorentina are thought to hold an interest in the 32-year-old, alongside the Gunners.

The German would certainly bring lots of experience to the Emirates Stadium. The World Cup winner has enjoyed a hugely successful career, that has seen him impress for the likes of Stuttgart, Real Madrid and his current club in Turin.

However, the 77-cap Germany international is no longer at the height of his powers. What’s more, he would likely command big wages.

Unai Emery should certainly be looking to strengthen his midfield this summer, following the exit of Aaron Ramsey. However, Khedira is not what is needed at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners must pursue a more mobile, energetic and attack-minded midfielder.

Khedira is something of a throwback, in terms of his style of play. He does not fit in with the vision of modern, fast-paced, flowing football that Emery is trying to cultivate in north London.

Even though Khedira is available, Arsenal must turn down this chance to secure his services.
