Arsenal are in very early talks to sign Isco on loan, with The Telegraph reporting that Real Madrid may prefer to let the midfielder move abroad rather to another La Liga side.
The January transfer window is looking set to be a pivotal one for Mikel Arteta’s men. The Gunners have now won two league games in a row for the first time since the second weekend of the season. But they remain in the bottom-half of the table.

A key issue that they may need to address next month is the lack of creativity. Despite scoring four across their last two games, Arsenal remain amongst the lowest scorers in the top flight. Only five teams have bagged fewer.
And it appears that Isco is being lined up as a key January transfer target.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal want the midfielder on loan. It is suggested that the 28-year-old is keen to leave Los Blancos temporarily after struggling for game-time.

The Telegraph notes that talks are at a very early stage. It is claimed that no official offer has been made at this stage. But Arsenal do seem to have an advantage over one of his fellow admirers.
Sevilla also want Isco. But The Telegraph suggests that Real may not want to loan him to another side in their league.
TBR View: Loan for Isco may make little sense for Arsenal
Isco is not the player who scored seven goals and contributed seven assists in just 30 La Liga appearances in the 2017/18 season.
Signing him on loan therefore, could actually be a gamble for Arsenal. If there is scope for a permanent deal and Isco goes on to impress, it makes all the sense in the world.
But Arteta’s men have proved in the last two games that they are definitely too good to be dragged into a relegation battle. So signing players to make a short-term impact has become less imperative.
In fairness, the European places are not beyond the Gunners either. But it looks to be a long way at this stage.
And given that, even on loan, Isco will surely not come cheap, perhaps there is surely an argument that Arteta should instead look to put his faith in those who can play a key role next season for the remaining months of this campaign.
