Arsenal transfer: Edu reportedly in talks with agent over Wolves star

Super agent Jorge Mendes is in constant contact with Arsenal technical director Edu over Ruben Neves, according to The Sun. The Gunners are keen to sign the Wolves star and his agent wants a quick resolution.

Neves is the subject of interest from Arsenal. It has been claimed, however, that the Gunners are not keen on forking out the £35 million valuation.

Mikel Arteta has already added Nuno Tavares to his ranks. Albert Sambi Lokonga looks set to be the second addition to Arsenal’s summer recruitment drive.

Neves would bolster the team’s midfield ranks considerably. Granit Xhaka has been the subject of interest, whilst Dani Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid.

Thomas Partey flattered to deceive last season and Mohamed Elneny is perhaps not considered as a long-term option for the Arsenal midfield.

Neves has a contract with Wolves until 2023 and the club are perhaps under pressure to offload him this summer.

The Portugal international has played 176 times for Wolves after initially joining the club when they were in the Championship. He has also scored 20 goals and claimed 10 assists.

Arsenal now hope to take the player to the Emirates Stadium where he could kick his career to the next level.

Arsenal must stump up the cash for Neves

It really doesn’t seem that much for Arsenal to fork out, especially considering the quality that Neves possesses.

The Gunners will hope to land their man but do seem unsure over the valuation placed on his head by Wolves.

Neves is decent at shielding the back four, whilst he also has the ability to get on the ball and bring the team’s more attacking players into games.

The midfielder is on £50,000-a-week at Wolves and he’d surely relish the chance to join Arsenal.

The Gunners can’t afford to miss out on players anymore. If they want Neves, they should do whatever it takes to get a deal over the line.
