Spanish outlet AS have claimed that Arsenal are one of three European sides interested in raiding Real Madrid for teenage midfielder Cesar Gelabert this summer, with another side already having an offer rejected.
Gelabert, 19, has impressed throughout 2019-20, breaking into Real Madrid’s Castilla side despite his tender age and playing 13 league games. Offering enormous versatility, Gelabert has been used on both flanks, up front and in central midfield.
Last season, Gelabert scored in the UEFA Youth League against Tottenham and Mikel Arteta is said to be keeping a close eye on the midfielder – who has Spain Under-17 caps. It is believed Real are keen to keep Gelabert.
Indeed, Zinedine Zidane’s side have already rejected an offer from French side Lyon for the playmaker – while Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on luring the Spaniard to the Bundesliga from second-placed Real Madrid.

TBR’s view – A long-term Ozil replacement?
Ozil’s future at Arsenal remains in doubt this summer, with the German set to enter the final 12 months of his enormous £350,000-a-week contract. Indeed, the player’s performances have certainly not matched his outrageous wage.
The Gunners will be keen to get him off the wage bill, but he still remains one of the first names on the team sheet under Arteta. A replacement will be required, and Gelabert offers the potential to be a long-term one for Ozil.
