Juventus are reportedly now ready to sell defender Daniele Rugani, months after reported interest from Arsenal.
The Italian giants have taken the decision to try and cash in on the 25-year-old, and keep hold of Merih Demiral instead according to Calciomercato.
Rugani has hardly seen any game time this season due to Maurizio Sarri’s unwavering faith in Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci.
Rugani can probably count himself unlucky to have only played 270 minutes of football this term, especially with club captain Giorgio Chiellini ruled out long-term with a knee injury.
TBR’s view – Rugani could be decent for Arsenal
Rugani has been with Juve since 2015 and has made 90 appearances to date.
He’s won the league title for every year he’s been at the club, and has worked alongside some top defenders such as Chiellini, Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli.
He’ll have had an excellent education during his time in Turin, and there’s a reasonable chance he’d improve Arsenal’s backline.
One thing is for sure – he isn’t anywhere near as rash as the likes of David Luiz and Sokratis, and his elegance and calm could really suit the Gunners.
