Arsenal are considered to be on pole position to sign Inter Milan playmaker Christian Eriksen, according to Inter Live.

The Denmark international will be allowed to leave the Serie A giants this January and has a host of admirers.

He has fallen way down the pecking order under Antonio Conte, despite only arriving at the club a year ago.

Inter want to recoup £17 million for the 28-year-old who wants £120,000-a-week in wages to seal a San Siro exit (CalcioMercato).

The report claims that nothing has been accelerated by the Gunners yet but that they are in pole position to win the race.

PSG, now led by Mauricio Pochettino, are also thought to be among the interested parties.

Arsenal have won three games on the spin in the Premier League and are up to eleventh in the table.

That won’t stop Mikel Arteta trying to add some creativity to his squad this month, however, with plenty of players already linked.

Eriksen is perhaps the most intriguing of them all, however.

He knows the Premier League inside out and the fact he was a Tottenham hero makes the reports fascinating.

The man with 103 caps for his country scored 69 goals and claimed 89 assists in 305 appearances for Spurs.

He is yet to register a goal contribution this season and is in desperate need of a move.

TBR View – Eriksen could be game-changer for Arsenal

The January window is typically difficult to sign players but landing Eriksen would be a massive boost.

The Gunners have picked up of late but the chance to sign the 28-year-old should prove too good to turn down.

He might have lost his way in the past year but with regular football, he could prove a massive hit.

In Arteta’s style of football, he could thrive and he could be the man capable of providing more goals for the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
