Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb claim that Arsenal are now leading the race to sign Real Betis winger, Nabil Fekir.
The updated reported comes just a day after reports from Spain suggested the Gunners, along with Barcelona, were keen on the French World Cup winning ace.
Estadio Deportivo made that claim, suggesting that Betis’ fragile financial situation could open the door for Arsenal to make their move.

But it appears that is indeed Arsenal who are in pole position to land Fekir. The Frenchman is a player who has been linked with a move to England on more than one occasion, having failed a medical with Liverpool previously.
His form for Betis has started to pick up this season following a bad knee injury. Previously of Lyon, Fekir is capable of playing on either wing or as a ten, which would suit Arsenal’s system very nicely indeed.
TBR View: Fekir a top player on his day but are his best days gone?
There’s no doubting that Fekir can produce the goods when he wants. On his day, he’s a fine player. Indeed, you don’t win a World Cup without having something about you.
But, there is the issue of those knees and also the fact his form hasn’t quite hit the heights it did in Lyon.
Arsenal do need players in the summer but landing Fekir might prove a risky bit of business, especially if he costs big money. Given Marca have also previously labelled Fekir a ‘luxury’ player, it’s a risky move for the Gunners in some sense.
